Hello, world.
I am SHIHO(@shihograph), an independent designer and illustrator based in Tokyo.

I born in Osaka in 1993. After graduating from university in Kyoto, I moved to Tokyo for work and accumulated experience in sales and marketing at a certain IT company for about 5years. Concurrently, I pursued self-study in design. The realm of design and art felt like a calling to me, and after a period of side job, I finally achieved to be freelance designer in 2021.

Currently, I combine my knowledge in marketing and design to engage in art direction centered around branding, as well as graphic design including corporate logos. (Please check latest portfolio.)
In a small SOHO studio in Tokyo, I visualize the ideas that bubble up in my mind every day.

This site has functioned solely as a portfolio for a long time, but now, I've decided to use it as a platform for a blog where I can document my thoughts and observations on life and work in Tokyo, as well as insights into the beauty of nature and cities not only in Japan but around the world.

I feel that there is value in the output filtered through my own perspective - capturing the unique natural landscapes, architecture, culture, food, and climate of each country and city. This sentiment, I believe, is not exclusive to me but is something anyone can experience.

In order to relive the memories of my travels and to share what I've felt with others, I wish to sift through these memories like a sieve of concern and leave behind beautiful memories here.

Personally, I am consciously aware of my life mission: "to leave a sense of wonder in this world."
I would be delighted to convey this sense of wonder to others through an approach that is somewhat different from the norm.

初めまして。

東京でアートディレクター・デザイナーとして活動しているSHIHOです。

1993年大阪に生まれ、京都の大学を卒業後に仕事で東京に移り

新卒から約5年間、某IT企業で営業とマーケティング職に従事しました。

当時、美大卒でないながらもクリエイティブな職業に就きたいと願った私は

マーケティング職と並行しながらデザインの独学を開始。

副業の期間を経て、晴れて2021年の夏にデザイナーとして独立。

現在は東京の自宅（それをアトリエと呼びたい）で

これまでのキャリアで培ったマーケティングとデザインの知見をかけ合わせ

ブランディングを軸にしたアートディレクション、

企業のロゴをはじめとするグラフィックデザインを数多く手掛けています。

これまで、このサイトはポートフォリオとして機能していましたが

折角なら東京で仕事と生活をしながら日々考えていること、

日本のみでなく世界の自然や街の美しさへの気づきをどこかに残しておこうと

このブログで、心に響いた原体験をしたためておきたくなりました。

世界には、神様が感性を研ぎ澄ませて作った自然と

街には建築や文化をはじめ人間が歴史を経て作り上げた美しさが溢れています。

その国や街にしかない自然の光景、建築、文化、食、気候、人。

それらを「自分」というフィルターを通して濾過したアウトプットにこそ

価値があるのではないかと感じます。（これは私だけでなく、誰しもに起こりうること）

旅の記憶を追体験するためにも、誰かに感じたことをシェアするためにも

記憶を憂いのふるいのように、美しい記憶をここで残させてください。
